  At first glance, this place is wonderful. The ladies are very nice and helpful. The older doctor with the hearing aids, I was so upset when I left to get his name was horrible, judge mental, and rude. We purchased cheap glasses for my 5 year old at a time when we couldn't afford any glasses. The next day he fell and the frame cracked. We glued it together and that lasted but the plastic sides broke off. Every week, a side piece would break off and we glued it back on waiting to be able to purchase new better ones. Oneonta optical replaced a side piece then the next day at gym class, the frame broke where it originally broke. The glasses are to the point the can not be fixed, taped, or glued back. I went back in to the store and this old dr blames the crappy frames on my son being terrible. I wore glasses for 30 years and have children that have worn them for 10 and 5 years and we have never had a problem with frames. I told them I knew the frames were not good and would purchase new ones that I just wanted to make sure they were good frames. This dr put my 5 year old in old lady grandma animal print glasses...he is a boy.
  
  We left and are going to lens crafters in Albany where they have a better selection for children. It's sad because I want to support local stores in Oneonta. Oneonta optical has lost the business of a family with 5 people who wear glasses.
